Architecture, Governance and Migration in Practice
For this 90-minute invite-only virtual roundtable, Intercloud9 is bringing together a small group of senior union peers for a candid, practical discussion about navigating digital platform transitions.
This peer-led session is designed specifically for Heads of Operations and senior membership or IT leaders within UK trade unions who are responsible for guiding their organisation through digital change.
Digital transformation in trade unions increasingly means moving beyond a single platform and toward a connected digital ecosystem – where a CRM backbone works alongside best-of-breed tools for membership, engagement, learning, finance and analytics. Yet while the principle of ecosystem thinking is becoming widely understood across the sector, the practical reality of designing and governing that ecosystem raises complex questions.
- How should unions approach integration architecture?
- What are the real challenges of data migration?
- How should reporting infrastructure be structured across multiple platforms?
- How can procurement decisions be made in a way that supports long-term flexibility rather than locking the organisation into rigid systems?
The roundtable will operate under the Chatham House Rule, creating a safe space for open conversation, shared experiences and honest discussion of the challenges unions are facing. Importantly, this is not a vendor event. No technology providers or implementers will be present.
What the roundtable will explore
Participants will take part in a structured discussion focused on the practical realities of digital platform transitions, including:

- Governance models that support long-term flexibility and strategic alignment
- Lessons learned from recent or ongoing platform transitions
With only 8-10 places available, the roundtable is intentionally small to allow for deeper conversation and meaningful peer exchange.
